State Bank of India (SBI) customers faced disruptions in internet and mobile banking services due to technical issues on April 1. The problem affected users across the country, causing failed transactions and issues with mobile banking and fund transfers.
Reports indicated a spike in complaints, particularly between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM. Most issues were related to mobile banking, with some users also experiencing trouble with fund transfers and ATMs.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) clarified that some banks were facing transaction problems due to the end of the financial year, but the UPI system was working fine. They assured that the issue would be addressed with the concerned banks.
Today due to financial year closing, some of the banks are facing intermittent transaction declines. UPI system is working fine, and we are working with the concerned banks for necessary redressal.

This is the second time this month that SBI faced such disruptions. On March 11, SBI also had problems with UPI and mobile banking services for over four hours. The RBI has been urging banks to improve their systems to avoid such issues in the future.
